The Adventure Continues

It is now Tuesday and we were off to more quilt shops.  Really?  We are seriously supporting the PA economy at this point but here we go!  Louise had found some original feed sacks at Bitty Kinna's on Monday and needed to call a friend of hers to see if she was interested in some as she is a collector.  She was so on Tuesday we went back to pick some up.  Pretty aren't they?

I think the next stop was the Old Country Cupboard. This shop had an extensive selection. We found some of the Kona we had been looking for here as well as a few other things too!

We were in Intercourse (located between Blue Ball and Paradise!!LOLOL)

The next place we went to was a trip. Have you ever watched the show Hoarders?? Well, this shop could be on that show and I'm not kidding. You could barely walk through it and it was impossible if you actually wanted something in the middle of a stack, just look at this!

It was more of a curosity rather than a place to actually buy stuff, but there was a nice little thrift shop next door and I got some cool stuff there.

Pretty cool huh? I think I will take the peacock embroidery apart and use it for a quilt center but it can stay framed for the minute.

I think we hit the Hayloft after this. It was inside a grocery store! I found some Castle Peeps and a few other pieces of good stuff.

After that we made our way back to the room. WE were pooped! Again we wanted to do some sewing. I laid out some of my tumbler quilt and realized that I needed some additional fabrics in order to finish it and make it big enough for what I wanted. The print fabric I was using is no longer available and I didn't see any more of it while we were shopping either. Then it was time for bed. The saga continues when we make our way to the quilt show on Wednesday. ~XOP~

What fun! Thanks for sharing the adventures :-) There's a quilt shop in Franklin TN that's rather like the one you found, but at least the owner knows what she has and where to dig for it!

whoever owns the shop with the fabric on bolts stacked up like that is crazy - how the heck can they even sell anything with it displayed like that? I would have walked in and then walked back out :) LOL - crazy!
I have been to some of the shops you have mentioned several times in your last post and today - I loved some of them and found some good buys. We have been to that area 3 or 4 times over the years - beautiful place and love the fabric stores.

Oh my gosh! I need to send my friend over to check out your trip. We went to 8 shops on a quilt hop between Friday afternoon and yesterday evening and I was pooped. I think we would be trailing behind you two!

Forgot, I posted a couple of pictures of some of my buys if you would be interested also.

That shop was dangerous! I would have been afraid the stacks would fall on me. :( But I know you girls were having a great time and that's going to mean great memories for years to come! blessings, marlene

I'm still stunned at the Hoarder store... do they actually SELL fabric? How? *shaking head*

Glad you're having fun... road trip + girlfriend + fabric shopping + quilt show = great time!!!

I would love to dig through that hoarder store and find some treasures, lol - AND clean it up! The peacock is gorgeous, what is that thing in the pic next to it? Is that a sewing kit?

Lol, it's taken me 20mins to catch up on the 'goings on'!!
First a big cheer to DD2 for 3 acceptances - well done! Hoping the outcome of the relationship goes just as well.
Love the 'free' trip with Thelma and Louise through the shops and was amazed at the Hoarder store. Surely they'd sell more if items were accessible?
Adore the peacock embroidery and loved the look inside the Hayloft.
I'll return to continue my 'overseas' trip with you girls :D.

There's a Hoarder shop like that in OKCity. He gets leftovers and buyouts from other fabric shops, but his prices are sky-high! I don't like to go in there unless I'm looking for something in particular.

Looks like you're having a wonderful time. ENJOY!
