A Little of This and a Little of That

Did you get your e-newsletter from Superior Threads yet? I did and in it is a quilting survey that if you participate in you could win some amazing prizes. Here is what it said in the newsletter:

Quilting Survey
Superior Threads has been invited by Quilters' Survey to co-sponsor a survey of quilters. Your responses will help these leading companies make
decisions about new products and how best to serve the quilters who are
important to all of us. When you've completed the survey, you'll be invited to sign up to receive
information from the sponsors about new products, educational
materials, special offers and more.A chance to win one of five fabulous prizes including a Superior Threads gift certificate valued at $350 retail.
Thesurvey is conducted by Quilters' Survey and your responses are
completely confidential. There is no way for the sponsors to link your
responses with your request to be included in the prize drawing. If you want to make your voice heard, please Click on the link below to get started.

I did the survey. It didn't take very long and it is good to let the powers that be know what we think. Plus the prizes are amazing! So go right now (or when you finish reading my blog of course) and fill out the survey. You can't win if you don't play!

Next up, do you all know about the Fat Quarterly e-zine? NO?? Well they are a fabulous new quilting electronic magazine. I have not subscribed yet but I am just about ready to give in and do it. You can see what 's in the e-zine too before you do but that's not why I am talking about them right now. Do any of you follow "March Madness"?? Ok, college basketball's BIG tournament. You need to come out of the quilting cave and learn these things! So maybe you do know and maybe you don't but here goes. Where I work, and I suspect anywhere men gather, they make up "brackets" including all the teams, half on one side and half on the other. It shows all the individual games and as they win the team advances until the sweet 16, the final 4 and so on and they play for the National Championship title. Why is this important you ask? Because the Fat Quarterly had put together a "bracket" using most of the current lines and are doing something similar. They have them paired up and you get to go to their site and vote. The "winners" will advance to the next round and we will get to do it all over again until the "National Champion" is selected. So you need to go here and download the bracket. Fill out how you think it should go and then vote too. Follow along and see how close you are in picking the right ones. (It's just for fun, no prizes or money, you remember doing things for fun right?)
I have mine all filled out. Can't wait to see if I chose the winner!!

Lastly I wanted to let you know about my progress on the My Tweets BOM. I really have not progressed much at all!! Bet you are not really surprised now are you?? The main reason is that I was waiting for my pattern to come in. My friend, Cori, of Crazy Quilt Girl's Fabric Shop, ordered the center pattern for me. The way it works is that you purchase the center pattern and all the rest are free on the One Piece At A Time's website. I know that Cori has one more of the center patterns available for purchase. (Listed on her ebay shop and in her online shop) It is called Miss Kelly and looks like this:

I chose this Monaco fabric to use for the vase in this pattern.

Won't this be perfect with the peacocks for the vase? I am in love with this. It has arrived and is at Pauline's house so I cant' do much until I see it and decide what I need to go with it. I am collecting so will let you know how it goes once I have all my fabric pulled for this one. I don't want to start it until I have my fabric choices made. XOP
