In Faith Quilt Finish 2015

I had a very dear friend that was diagnosed with Ovarian cancer.
Her daughter and my daughter are best friends.
I determined to make her a quilt in the fall.
I finished it and gifted it to her while she was in the hospital.

I wanted to make something soft and full of prayers.
So I turned to pastel crosses and low volume backgrounds

I embroidered the label and sewed it on to a soft cream flannel.

She never got a chance to see it.  She passed away the end of October.

Her daughter has it now.

I hope it will be of some comfort to her and remind her that I loved her mom and that I love her too.

I loved this pattern and am thinking that I need to write it up as it was simple to make.

I love how soft and calming this turned out.

You could easily do it with more manly colors too.

RIP my friend and may God Bless you and your family.

So sad that your dear friend didn't get to see the wonderful quilt you made for her. You must miss her terribly. It was a wonderful and kind gesture to pass the quilt onto her daughter so she can wrap herself in the love of your family.

Wonderful quilt and I am so very sad that your friend didn't get to see this before she passed away. I lost my good friend two years ago to cancer but I was lucky in that the quilt I made for her April birthday covered her bed for two months and her hospice bed for the last two days of her life. Your friends daughter will treasure this special gift.
