Some Makes

I gifted a couple of quilts to my daughter's in-laws this year.
We don't usually exchange gifts, but I found some patterns and knew I had to make them for them.  Rick has an antique green truck so when I saw this pattern I knew he needed this one.
 ,

Her MIL, Julie, is a HUGE Outlander fan.
I found this quilt made in the tartan plaid of Jamie Frasier (one of the main characters) so I also knew this needed to be made for her.
My friend, Liz, quilted it with thistles, which was perfect for the Scottish heritage of the story.

Here they are with their quilts.

I made quilts for my husband's 2 brothers also.
I can finally show these finished too.
This was made for his brother Mark and wife Jackie.
It was all navy and white/creams.

I used this beautiful blue minky for the back.

This one was made for his brother Andy and wife Sarah.
The colors reminded me of their lake house in Michigan.
Such calm colors.

I love the quilting we used on this quilt.
I put gray minky on the back and it was so beautiful.

So these were the quilts I ended the year with.

I hope you all have time to get in a few last minute makes before 2022.

Christmas 2021 and Thadd's Birthday

I woke up on Christmas morning and made myself this amazing cup of coffee.
  It was so yummy.

Chris had been busy working on these electronic luminaries.
They turned out so well!

Chris and I exchanged gifts and we each got great gifts from the cats.  They each got us a mug!

Our daughter gave us a wool pod for the cats and this is what my son did with it.
He brought Pepper over to celebrate with us too.

Cole has used the pod a few times but I am thinking of gifting it to friends that have a kitten.

Every year my son was little I never had time to make his birthday cake as his day is the day after Christmas and there seemed to be no time.
More recently I have been making him cakes!
 He always asks for cheesecakes.
This year he asked for a caramel apple cheesecake.
I think he likes to see what I can come up with each year, LOL.
 Google to the rescue.
I found one on the Pioneer Woman's website.
 Turns out it was amazing!!\

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas.

Christmas 2021

Christmas was pretty low key over here at chez Lincoln.
We didn't have the grandbaby but our other 2 kids were here.
I forgot to share some photos of the Christmas stockings I made for my great nephew Charlie.
Thought I would share those now.

This Santa one was made for Charlie's grandma and grandpa's house.
I had a devil of a time finding that green for the name.
I usually put my fabrics for a project into fabric jail.
Somehow this one became an escapee.
GRRRR.
Luckily, I happened to find the order form for the fabric I had used so could get the name.  Unfortunately, the fabric is an out of print fabric, Moda Bella Peppermint.
I managed to find some in Canada, so ordered it.
Then the next day I found some in the US and ordered that too.
NOW it is in fabric jail, until this family is finished having babies!

This stocking went to Charlie's house.
It matches the stockings of his folks and his brother.

You know that I was working on a "Canada" quilt for my husband for Christmas.
I got it finished in time!

I had my quilter quilt the word "Canada" into it.
You can see the loons below the word too.

I did this on the top and bottom of the quilt.

I put fishing lure flannel on the back.

I have other Christmas quilt gifts to share but in another post.
I thought I would share a family photo.

Every year my 3 kids take the clip-on candles I have and see who can put theirs the highest on the tree.
My eldest put hers where she is pointing.
My son was so tired he decided that he wasn't going to play.

So she put both his and her sister's upside down on the lowest branch, LOL.

The same daughter made those cinnamon rolls in a tube in her waffle maker and they were AMAZING!

One quick photo of my sweet boy who had Christmas in NC.
Gigi and Papa sure did miss him!

More Christmas tomorrow!

Pillow Covers From CUTE Dish Towels

I bought some of the cutest Christmas dish towels a few years ago.
I *FINALLY* made time to make them all into pillow covers.
I had so much fun mixing and matching fronts, backs, zipper covers.
I decided to make all the covers for 20" pillows.
I quilted each of the fronts.
The pillow covers are all lined too.

Here is the parade of pillow covers.

I gifted this one to my niece that has 4 girls under the age of 5!

For the zipper cover I used the cut off of the dish towel.
Worked GREAT!

Next up was one I got to use Max the dog print (from the Grinch).
I made some candy cane bias binding.

I had bought the cutest little iron on labels so put them on the back of each pillow cover.

I really loved the print I used for the border and back on this one.

I took a break and made a LOT of cookies!
Snickerdoodles, molasses ginger, Swedish Cardamom, a Cardamom shortbread, peanut butter blossoms and chocolate chip.

It was so BAD!
I am eating low carb but I think I ate my weight in cookies, d'oh!

Then I started back on the pillow covers.

I quilted a Christmas tree into this one with a star on the top!

I think this one is my all time favorite!
I'm a sucker for the aqua and red!

Our neighbors down the street put up an amazing light display
so we walked there and took some pictures.

OK, that's all for the moment.
I need to get to wrapping, and grocery shopping.

If I sew anything else before Christmas I will be sure to show.
I made a few quilts for gifts that I can't show until after Christmas so hopefully you will stop in.
