Playing Catch-up

I feel like I have been so busy and stressed out that my sewing is suffering.
I finished the wedding quilt top and pieced the back of the wedding quilt
that I am making for my nephew.
I just need to get it to my quilter.
I have to choose binding but think I will do that once it returns home to me.

I will be posting my proposed finishes for Q2 of the FAL tomorrow so will show my photo of wedding quilt progress tomorrow.

I have several (4) babies coming this year that will all need their own Chenille blanket.
I have three of the 4 finished.
I posted the first one a few posts back.  I think in the finish along post.
One of the babies the parents want to be surprised so the blanket needed to be able to be used for a boy or a girl.
This is what I came up with.

The other one, they know the baby is a girl so I made this one pretty girly.
I hope they like pink!
I love the vintage deer fabric I found for the back.
Check my tutorial page if you want to learn how to make one of these.
They make excellent shower gifts.
I am happy to come to your guild or quilt shop and teach this too.

I pressed all of the flannel for the last one.
I have been thinking about what to make for the wedding shower I have coming up.
 Stay tuned for that.
I am also trying to decide if all of these babies need quilts or if the chenille blanket is enough.
What do you think?
Three of the 4 are relatives, and 2 of those one of the mom's is a quilter and for the other one the grandma is a quilter.
So do I make a quilt or no quilt?
Two of the 4 are first babies.

OK enough of all that.

Do you remember me asking for 1.5" strips?
My friend Ioleen came through and sent me the nicest package.

She included the strips, some yummy candy and a "World's Best Brownie" recipe, which I am anxious to try.  Thank you soooooo much!!!
(One of the candy bars is missing from the photo as I ate it )

Online friends are so much fun, thank you Ioleen!!

I hope to work on my Q2 post and have it ready to post tomorrow, but if not, then watch for it!

I need to try another chenille and get my stitching lines more uniform. Been busy too and haven't sat at my sewing machine for weeks. 😹

my reaction is to make quilts for the babies with no quilting relatives and chenille for the 2 that have quilters in the family. Most likely the quilters will make a special quilt for the babies so a chenille quilt would be different and an amazing gift. The other 2 should have special quilts so either more chenille or maybe something that you designed would be extra special - like the one you designed a few years ago (with 9 patches I think). We are in FL and enjoying the sun and no snow to shovel!!

Loving those chenille blankets! I think they should be enough. XO

Just (read-finally) read the chenille tutorial. Are chenille scissors ones you keep for that use or a special type of scissors? rjc2cam(at)msn(dot)com

Forgot to say I'd do as Judy said for the baby gifts. Good job on getting them all done.

How about burp clothes and bibs for gifts? Your chenille blankets are great though and would be a great gift no matter if their mamma and grandma quilt too.
