Pineapple Fabrics and Friends

Today was the day!!  Chris and I met up with our friends,
Debbie and Mark at Pineapple Fabrics in Archdale.
Debbie and I shopped and Chris and Mark visited.  I
completely forgot to take pictures inside the shop,
but got a couple of pics of the two of us and our bags.

These are the 25 nap blankets I made for Debbie to give for a donation.
I got a pic of her and Mark putting them into their car.
These are 2 of my favorite people in the whole world!
They are not only some of the nicest people I know, but very giving too.
We are looking forward to going wine tasting with them when we return in the fall!!

I was super happy to get 50 yards of fabric out in the form of nap blankets.
I also donated another (probably over 20 yards) for her and her friends to use to make some more.
I'm thinking that my goal should be to make another 10 before we return in the fall.
Maybe I will just have to keep making them until all my kid friendly flannel is used up.
What do you think?

Wanna see what I bought today?
I can show you all but one thing as that's a surprise for a friend.

I found some of the sky Thatched I needed for a pattern.
Then I found some Lizzy House ghosts and some Tula!!!
I bought the rest of the Tula and just a little bit of the ghosts.
They had some of the LH butterflies in navy and a bunch of her constellation prints,
the ones in the rainbow colors.
I reluctantly left those all there.

I found some Tiger Lily.  I really wanted to buy it ALL, but I left some for others
(plus I couldn't afford to buy it all).
These are two of my all time favorite cat prints!

OMGosh you guys.  I could have done some damage here!
I found the cutest panel of a town and roads (a car mat) to make for Avery.
My friend, Debbie, swears by these Magic pins so I decided to give a set a try.
They were 20% off so I figures what the heck.
They also had the snowman panel by Moda for $9.99.
Again, I left that there.

Chris has been into wearing "crazy" socks lately.
When I saw these I could not pass them up.
His birthday is next month so I will be putting them away for his birthday.

I saw this bag made up and thought it would be a fun one to cut my teeth on.
I don't make many bags but this looked about my speed!  LOL.
I bought the pattern and think I will do that once I get home.
Isn't it cute?

After a fun lunch at an actual "dine in" place we left our friends and headed back to the camper.
Thanks for a fun time friends!

Yesterday was Finny's birthday.
He is now 4 years old.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY FINNY!!

Sewing, Sewing Sewing

I decided that I needed to get my bee blocks for January finished so worked on those this weekend.
I really enjoyed making these blocks and found that the pattern went together very easily.

I love the meandering black fabric.
It is an old Denise Schmidt fabric.
It looks really cool in this block.
These were paper pieced from a free pattern at Whole Circle Studio
These will be the last of my bee blocks for awhile.
I am stepping away from the bee for the time being.
I am working on some blocks "bee style" with my friends at work.
More on that later.

I have been steadily sewing baby burp cloths using up left over flannel from quilt backs.
I finally had enough of them to list them in my ETSY shop.
If you need some for gifts please go take a look.
There are LOADS to choose from.
I will be making more as I have more flannel available.

Here are a few examples:

Some have rick rack around them and some are plain.

I loved these fighter jets!

I had them all stacked up on my coffee table when little Sir decided he needed to "claim" them!

I hope you will find something you love if you go and check them out.
They make wonderful shower gifts and
there are different ones in addition to the ones you see here too.

Have a wonderful day!

WIPs With Friends

Since instituting my Google monthly goal spreadsheet with my friends I find
I am being even more productive than I was before.
It is crazy, but I put some pretty lofty goals on it each month then kill myself to achieve those goals.  Now, every month won't be like that but for now it is working for me.

I have been working on some binding (with a helper of course)

My oldest daughter used to draw dragons.
She drew this one a long time ago and I promised I would make him into a quilt. *sigh*
What was I thinking??
Well I have come across him again and think he needs to go on the list of things to work on.
I blew up the drawing and have traced all the parts on to fusible.
That is as far as I have gotten, LOL.
 His name is Prismata.

On my goal sheet is also doing my Bee blocks every month and I finally did this month's blocks.

I also put one Ocean Waves block on the monthly goal list.  Here is this month's block.

Additionally I have been working to finish the green quilt's binding.
I am almost finished with this one.

I leave you with Finny giving me a couple of "shaky" hugs.
He wraps his little paws around my arm and just squeezes so tight his whole body shakes!
 It is the cutest!

Now it is your turn to link up with what you are working on.

Good Friends and Gratuitous Kitten Photos

I want to take a few minutes heading into the holiday weekend to share
a few recent gifts from my internet friends.
First up is a pillow cover my friend Kayla made for me.
Isn't it gorgeous?

Then totally out of the blue, my friend Judy sent me some strips for my scrap quilt.
I was so amazed and thankful!
If any of you have 1.5" wide pieces x up to 4" long and want to sew those together and send some to me just message me for my mailing address.
It is a great leader/ender project!
Also, my friend Carol, sent me a tracing of a Spartan helmet.
I am considering using that as an applique for a MSU quilt for the camper bed!
(It is the tissue under the card in this photo.)
Thank you ladies!!!

Last night I was *trying* to work on the star quilt but Finny had other ideas.
He sorely wanted my attention as you can see here.

Here he was helping me sew.
I finally had to put him out of the room, LOL.
He is so cute though.

With hubby away they have been more needy than usual of my time.
What is everyone up to this weekend?
I have a birthday party for my great niece to go to tomorrow and then pick up hubby.
No big plans after that.
DD1 asked me to come over and watch some TV show with her she is excited about but
that is a BIG time commitment.
She would want me to watch both seasons and the episodes she has saved after that.
Sounds like a good one though.
Revolution I think is the name.

Whatever you do, enjoy your long weekend
(if you live in the US)
and if not then enjoy your weekend!
