Quick Share of Awesomeness (Then Back To Regular Scheduled Programing)

As reported in Science (the journal) a group of individuals in Switzerland have found a way to give hope to people with spine injuries.
They used a combination of drugs and electrical stimulation coupled with hard work and rats that had a partially severed spinal column.
The rats eventually were not only able to walk again but also to run and climb stairs.
This is an amazing bit of research!!
I am a scientist at the University of Michigan and when I read this I got goosebumps.
What hope this holds out for those folks with these kinds of injuries!!

OK off my soapbox now.
Go to this link and watch the amazing video and read a short article about it.

I didn't realize that you were a scientist. The world doesn't have enough scientists. Thank you for sharing this article. This research could potentially help so many people.

I have goosebumps too! My niece had a diving accident last summer and has injured her spine, leaving her Quadriplegic - she is 20 years old and it is heart-wrenching. Finally some hope!! Thanks for sharing this awesome news! I will forward it to my sister.
