It's *finally* my day to blog about Konda's new Simply Charming Mini quilt book!!
It's *finally* my day to blog about Konda's new Simply Charming Mini quilt book!!
YEAH!!
This is one great book! Konda's directions are so easy to follow and I can't wait to make one or two or more of the quilts in this book!!
I was riding home from work with DD1 and was telling her about the tour and
that Konda wanted us to talk about what you can do with a mini quilt.
It's kind of a thing, this response, but she said, "What can't you do with a mini quilt?"
And we laughed!
It is kind of true though, they are very versatile.
This began the following (sorry)
You can use it to decorate your dog (a mini quilt I made for DD1)
Or use it for catoflauge (I just made that word up!!)
Can you just see how they blend into their surroundings??
Or for real you can do what I do which is switch them out in my bathroom as wall decorations.
I trade them out seasonally.
Honestly, I think that a LONG time ago I saw this photo and it totally began my obsession with mini quilts.
This photo is from the Sentimental quilter.
When I saw this wall of mini quilts I just flipped!!
Isn't it amazing?
What a great way to decorate a room!
I also love this photo, it's similar, from Hillary Lang
I hope you have enjoyed this post about "What can't you do with a mini quilt?" as much as I have!
Now for the details about winning a copy of Konda's book.
Leave me a comment and I will do the drawing next week sometime.
I will draw a name, but I need to have a way to contact you!
If you are a no-reply blogger I will draw again.
Leave your email in the comment if you are unsure, trust me you do NOT want to miss out on this book!!!

Great ideas for your mini quilts and I would also love to have a wall of minis. Thanks for the chance to win this great book!
I have started a wall of minis from my various swaps - and minis for the seasons/holidays for my table topper stands. Would love this book.
Definitely would love to win a copy of the book... I have loved everything I've seen so far :*) Your mini's are adorable and do a wonderful job of accessorizing your fur-children.
I'd love to win a copy of this book. Thanks for the opportunity!
Your mini quilt is just adorable! I'd love to make a few mini quilts and put them on my wall like other quilters have done and yes, in my bathroom is a great start. It would be extra nice to have the book. Thank you.
Great ideas for using minis
I love the idea of a mini-quilt wall! This book would give me a great start :-) Thanks for the chance to win!
I sew mini quilts for my granddaughters. I also hang them on my wall. I do love my mini beauties. Judith, Texas
I like the idea of a mini quilt wall! Love the catoflauge quilt! This looks a great book - I would love to win a copy!
Cool! Minis ARE perfect for cats!
I love mini quilts for instant gratification sewing. I've got them placed throught my home. I like the ideas I've been seeing in the book tour too.
Love the colors of this mini and sharing the others. Thank you for the giveaway I love small objects.
This book looks like fun! Thanks for the chance to win!
What great ideas for displaying mini quilts! I have thought about making some using small pieces from my scrap bins, but always wondered what I would do with them. I'm inspired now ;). Love the idea of dedicating an entire wall in my sewing room for the display.
Love those mini quilts covering a wall!! I think I may need to try that. Love a chance to win the book.
The rotating mini idea is great. I may have to steal that one. And I love, love, love the entire wall idea. I'm definitley going to pick a wall here to use for that.
I would absolutely love this book! Nothing like a mini!
Oh what great walls of mini quilts! I would love to do that... Small quilts just make me smile! Thank you for the chance to win!
My two year old daughter uses the mini quilts in our house as a "road". She lays them down on the floor and walks along them and then picks them up, swaps them around and does it again. Not sure this is the best way to treat a mini but she has lots of fun
Decorating your pets is definitely a unique way of displaying your quilts. I've made a few mug rugs and minis for the grandgirls to use with their dolls. They make great little table toppers too. I would love to win a copy of Konda's new book and add it to my quilting library. Thanks for the chance!!!
"Catoflauge" ... love it :) My cats love to hide (and roll up in) under all my small quilts. I have even made mini quilts just for them for their baskets. My cats are very spoiled. I love the photos of the wall displays. Since I am going to have to have one of these ... and I will not be able to get my mini quilts out from under my quilty kittys, I am going to have to make many more. Hope I win this lovely pattern book ... thanks :) Pat
I love the walls of quilts...wish I had a wall!! That book looks great!
i am longing to decorate empty wall space with mini quilts now!!
I love mini quilts too! The book looks awesome! Thanks for sharing.
I'm thinking of things in a whole new light all of a sudden! I need the book anyhow to participate in Konda's next quiltalong so if you pick my name you'll make me very, very happy!
I love the idea of a wall of mini quilts!
Love to win the book so I can make some.
I like the mini quilt wall idea. I like mini quilts but I'm always at a loss as for doing something with them. Thanks for the opportunity to win your giveaway.
I too love minis. I must get them out of the cupboard and on to my walls. That's fabulous. Thanks for the chance to win this great looking book.
now those are some ways to use your mini quilts. I do love those walls. I have been making my own mini quilts lately which I switch out on my table topper stand.
I can visualize mini quilts on one wall for maybe a baby's room or a little girl's room. Yes, there are endless possibilities to making mini quilts using Simply Charming Minis Book. You are going to make some lucky quilter really happy to win that wonderful book.

Thanks for the giggle, great way to start my day! But seriously, those mini quilt walls do make my brain whirl with ideas, I wonder what DH would say???? Hmmmm...
ooooo, a wall of mini quilts! Lovely. Keeping my fingers crossed...8-)
well I have one mini on the wall in the sewing room. perhaps the start? Thanks for the chance to win. :)
Haha Catoflauge! Too funny. I think your kitties may have been fine being 'hidden' for the better part of the day judging by their faces.
I have never made a mini quilt yet but think the decorating a wall is such a great idea. I think I'm going to make some and put them on my family picture wall to break it up a bit and add some bright color to it.
and just to be positive .....

I love the walls from Sentimental Quilter. So cool. Is that a purple dragon on the first quilts? That is so cute.

These "walls of mini quilts" are really inspiring. I might have to start one (if I ever get caught up with my current projects!).
Those are great ideas! :) Looks like a great book too.
I've also seen pictures of walls filled with mini quilts. I love how that looks! I wish I had a wall with enough room to do that too. Thanks for the great post and for the chance to win!
You are so right - I do NOT want to miss out on this book. And you really can do anything with minis. Besides wallhangings (have you ever seen them framed!?) they make great little table toppers (like on a lamp table), or doll quilts. You can even use them to make a tote bag. Or just sit around and admire them. I love minis! LOL

I'd love to win this book! Thanks for the chance!
Have been thinking of making a wall of minis. This book would definitely help. Thanks!
What a great idea, a mini quilt. Do put me down for the draw.... I love the photos they are great and funny. You can tell the cats have more experience showing they know what to do and your hound lookin... "well what do you want me to do with it!" hope you are well Pamx
I'd love to have a whole wall of minis! I currently have 2 on one wall, and 3 on another - better get sewing eh? :)
Little guys like these make great doll quilts!

Love your catoflouge!!! Great post, love the pics of the wall's of quilts too!! I like to trade out the few mini's that I have also, when the seasons change (when I remember :-P ) Helen (hlebrett at live dot com)
Hahaha! Since a mini quilt can camoflauge both cats and dogs, maybe it should be called pet-o-flauge? We should add this to the urban dictionary because I feel this could be the next trendy word...LOL.
I love mini's, as they are so versatile.. Love your decorating the cats and dog...I change mine out seasonally too.
Your mini quilts are so perfect! Love all the ideas. Looks like a great "little" book :)
Cute way to display the mini quilts as covers on your pets!
55 is a good number, right? eatkin85@yahoo.com
I have really enjoyed reading all the blogs on the mini quilts blog tour. Thans for a chance to win this great book.
I put my miniquilts in the windowsill, so the cats wont freeze, sitting there. Especially in wintertime.

My cats aways want to be ON the quilt, so then their hairs are quilted right in. Then it makes a better catoflage.

I am working on quilts for a mini quilt wall. Would love to win the book.
That picture from Sentimental Quilter is what started me on the Mini Quilt trail! I have traded quite a few but I still have wall space available so I would love to win the book for new patterns.

I love that wall and it has inspired me to get my minis on the wall. Thanks for the chance to win such a great book. I love minis and charm packs so it is perfect.
I love that mermaid mini! Of course, Sparkle is gorgeous as well. I've yet to make a mini quilt. I've been redoing our kitchen and really want to make snack mats. We are always grabbing a paper towel instead of a plate to eat a sandwich or muffin. I think a little collection of minis in a napkin holder on the table would be a great alternative. Thanks for the chance and the inspiration!
I love the idea of hanging seasonal minis in the bathroom. Now I need to make some bathroom quilts.
I love the idea of decorating a wall with mini quilts. But I have never made a mini. Sure would love to win this book so I could get started on creating some. Thanks for the giveaway.
Love the cataflauge idea! Very creative. I'd have to use it for DD-a-flauge as we don't have any cats.
I've been on a blitz making small quilts lately - would love to try some from this great new book!
Just started in small quilts. I find it a wonderful way to learn to quilt on my home machine! Really would love to win this book. Thanks.
I just started making mini quilts. They are so much fun. You can make them really fun and try new techniques without having to try it on a whole big quilt.
I am drawn to mini quilts too and like your pics of displays. Where did you get the long wood hanging thing for the quilts in your bathroom?
Eep! Such cute pet pictures. Of course, now my cat wants to know why he doesn't have his own personal quilt...
I love small quilts for a fast project in between large quilts. I use them as table toppers and seasonal wall quilts. Thank you for a chance to win this great new book!
Wow!! Every time I read someones post on this book I want it more and more!!! Great Ideas to use the quilts for!!!
I love your pet's pictures! I have two kitties and then often use my large quilts to sleep on. Maybe I could make minis just for them.
Hugs from France
You have some great mini quilts. I am going to have to make one.
I chuckled to see you decorating your pets! I love the idea of the quilt wall. Very cool.
I think richard's eyes would bug out of his head if I did that to my house! I think I'm going to turn my NY Beauties into mini quilts :)

Woohoo, I just must have this book. Love all the ways you used mini quilts. (grin)
Love the catouflage look! Sounds like a great book. Thanks for a chance to win.
I was here yesterday but forgot to leave a comment. I started looking at those blogs with walls of small... who wouldn't love to do that!
Mini quilts give you a sense of accomplishment for instant gratification as well as allowing you to try out new techniques, patterns or quilting styles. I love to work on a mini quilt to match the larger quilt I'm making!!
Hope I win!!
Blessings
Gmama Jane
I am a new visitor to your blog, I will come back again too! I enjoyed the way you displayed your minis!!
I enjoyed your post about mini quilts. I have not done much of that type of quilting but it looks like fun. Love the catoflauge!

I don`t need a mini-quilt for my pets, since we don`t have any right now. However. I can always find another reason....
I love these adorable mini's! A wall of mini's - eye candy!! Thanks for the chance to win.
therese.aiken@gmail.com
I don't think I've ever seen so many mini quilts at one time. Great inspiration!!! Now if it will just rain so I will make myself stay inside and try to create a mini quilt!!

That sounds like a great book, and I would love to win it. Ever since I saw that photo of that wall of quilts, I have wanted one.
I will have to try that catoflauge!
I love the idea of the wall of mini quilts. I think my sewing room may need a may over.
What a great idea to fill a wall with minis. And they finish up so quickly.

I like mini quilts and think the quilt along would be fabulous. Would love to win the book.
I love how that quilt hides your cat so well! LOL! I love mini-quilts. I hope I am getting in on time to the give away.
