I just have to take a minute to share something that happened to me today. I *know* I am getting older and I *know* I have gained some weight but please...have I really changed that much? Apparently, the answer must be YES!
I was minding my own business and going to turn in time cards for the students in our lab which necessitated a walk to another building. I got in the elevator and went down to the first floor where the elevator door opened. As the door opened there was a woman standing there (that I had known for over 15 years but had not seen in a long time) She said, "HI" so I said "HI" back. She then asked me what lab I worked in, which I thought was odd since she should know that already, but I told her. Then she looked me straight in the eyes and asked me if I knew Me! I looked at her like she was crazy and told her "I am _____". So obviously I must look drastically different. Arrrrghhh. How depressing! I know this is not nice but I hope she felt bad cuz it made me feel bad too.
On a brighter note Annemiek sent me a photo she took in Italy of Pam supermarcato! I have supermarkets named after me there. I guess the Italians still love me! Thanks for the photo Annemiek, you ROCK!
Have a great Friday night!!

That's okay Pam, we still love you. What you didn't know is the lady you met in the elevator needed glasses!
Oh Pam you got it all wrong, she did not know you becasue you looked super great since the last time she saw you!!
Don't give it a second thought! Years ago, I ran into someone I hadn't seen in a LONG time and she asked if I was pregnant (the answer was no, but I'd gained weight)! How rude is that! Anyhow, she's one person! Phooey on her!
It must be the week for such things! I saw an old friend the other day and she said to me "Your hair is so pretty. I know it's getting gray, but it really is pretty." Gee, thanks a lot!
And what did this person say once you told her who you were???
Aw don't worry about it Pam. She might just have memory problems or just doesn't have the knack of putting faces with names if they aren't in daily contact. I'm sure she felt like a real idiot and well should have.
Crispy
ROFL - she must have severe memory loss. Yep, that's it.
I had my children in my early 30's, and when they were young, a woman at a garage sale told me how nice it was of me to take care of my grandchildren. ARGH.
maybe ... just maybe ... the OPPOSITE is true - you have been losing weight all year and you have a new hairstyle ... you're a new, improved you and she was looking for the old you!
by the way, i think i may have found the pounds that you lost - you want them back?
Ouch!! I think it has just been too long since she had her eyesight checked! Don't let it bother you.....
Think positive she could mean you look so good now she didn't know you or she needs glasses badly lol
Hugs Janice
Oh yeah, just the thing you want to hear when you feel that your body isn't your best friend...It does it every time doesn't it. You KNOW you shouldn't care but still you do. Someone ask me decades ago if I was pregnant when I wasn't and I still remember who and where.
But they DO love "PAM" around Venice. It was crowded at the supermarket!!!!
