Patchwork Please Trivet Progress

I am totally loving the Patchwork Please trivets.  

They are so much fun to make.  

I want to try several other things in this fabulous book but not before Christmas.

I have made 5 trivets so far and just finished the last one last night. 

 I am hoping you want to see.  They all look so different!

You have already seen these two but I will re-cap:

This one was for my friend Pauline.

This one was gifted to my friend Robin.

This one was gifted to my friend Judith

This one was super special. 

 I used the butterfly fabric in the middle and back and binding that I used in the quilt I gifted to my friend Holly when she was going through her radiation treatment.  

This is the back of the butterfly one.  I love Tamara Kate's fabric!

Someone asked me how I put them together. 

 I paperpieced the tops and then sandwiched like making a quilt using 

Insul-Bright ( heat resistant batting) in the middle and backing then quilted, trimmed and bound them.

Flatter was my friend for nice crisp fabrics and I glue basted the binding and sewed it down on the front by machine.  Much easier than hand stitching it down!

I have a few more to make but they have been really fun. 

 They would make cute mug rugs too  using just regular batting.  

I take my hubby in to the hospital tomorrow late afternoon for his kidney stone removal.

I am writing this a day early so hopefully I can figure it out tomorrow!

Fabric Collage Finish it up Friday

I decided to try making a fabric collage using stretched canvas, fabric and Mod Podge.   

I first saw how to do this over at Crazy Mom Quilts.  

I have wanted to try one for quite some time now.  

I laid it all out to make sure I liked how it looked. 

 It didn't use many scraps up but I love how it looks!  I have to put the Mod Podge on it tonight.

I am doing the Soak challenge and yesterday it was thread. 

 Today it is measures.  

This picture captures BOTH!  

Some of my thread and those adorable china scissor keeps are also pin cushions and tape measures (the measure comes out of their butt!!)

Two constitutes a collection right?  RIGHT??

America's Best Friend (also my friend) Vicky, made me this amazing little pouch. 

 I especially love the little kitty fob that even has paw prints on her paws!

It is wonderful to have such a talented and generous friend!

I am blessed beyond measure by my friends and family! 

 I want to let all of you know how much your kind words of support and encouragement have meant to both me and my husband as we forge our new path in life.

Just When You Thought It Was Safe

I thought with my napkins finished I was done.  

WRONG!  

Hubby wants to go to the tractor show on Saturday.  

 I promised Robin and Judith that I would work on napkins with them.  

So the compromise is that I told Robin I would glue and 

stitch her 50 napkins this week and go for 2 hours in the morning on Saturday to help with Judith's.

I went home with all 50 of Robin's napkins.  Sigh, it was a long night!

The first group were these yellow ones.  

So pretty!

Next in the pile were these bold flowers.  I liked this fabric and the napkins are really pretty!

Autumn was tired with all of the helping she was doing so she took a little rest.

The last set of ten were in the same fabric as the last but a different colorway. 

 I think Autumn did not want these to go!

OK, so I have 3 sets of 10 more glued and ready to stitch.  

I plan on doing the stitching tonight. 

 I should be able to glue up the last 2 sets of 10 tomorrow night at quilting.

I will be pretty happy to see this come to an end.  

The good news is I can glue these in my sleep and am getting much better at the "line" being even all the way around!
