Meet The Newest Addition To the Family

Hubby and I were at the Sally Ann last night.  

It was 25% off for seniors (anyone over 55).  

You'll never guess what I happened to find.  

I am always on the look out for vintage sewing machines. 

 It seems most of the ones at the SA are in pretty rough shape and not usually Singers.  

I found a Model 66-16 Singer in a cabinet!!  

I was so thrilled.  

I have divested myself of three vintage machines to dae.

(to the vintage sewing machine man in Munith).  

Hubby said to go for it.  So I bought her and now she is mine!!!

Here are some photos I took in the store.  

She needs a foot pedal and power cord but those are easily obtained.  

Also a little TLC, but she is a beauty!!!

Not Off To Market

I am so sad that I am not able to go to market this year!  

It looks like everyone is having so much fun!

Instead I am planning a trip to Raleigh, NC to visit my amazing daughter.  

We have a trip to the beach planned again this year but a different beach.  

We had a lot of fun last time!

I was talking to a very good friend this week about 

what would happen if there were an EMP (electro magnetic pulse) in the US. 

 (I saw something about it on FB).

All things that need electricity would stop functioning. 

 We had quite a discussion and which things we had prepared and which things we needed to work on.  It just popped into my head and I said to her, 

"I need to buy a treadle sewing machine so I can still sew!" 

 LOL she proceeded to tell me that I was the only person on the planet that would worry about THAT!  haha.  

She is so wrong, but I love her anyway.

Seriously though it got me to thinking and I decided to start looking for a treadle machine.  

Interestingly enough another good friend was trying to get rid of hers!  

Coincidence?  

I think NOT!

So look at what is going to be coming to my house when I get back!  

A Singer Red Eye!!!!

She even has it all cleaned up, repaired and running like a champ!!

The cabinet is just beautiful too.

She even has attachments and the original owners manual.  It is a Singer 66 Model.

I haven't actually broken this to my husband yet.  

This will make my 7th sewing machine!!!   

YIKES!  

Maybe it is time to find homes for two of the cabinet machines.  

Anyone out there interested in vintage machines? 

 I can take some photos if so.

Some Recent Purchases and Stuff

I may not be getting in as much sewing as I would like but I have done a little shopping!  

Pink Castle was having a sale recently and I picked up these half yard cuts of 

Sun Prints Party Streamers by Allison Glass.  

After a hectic day at my dad's last Friday I stopped by Field's Fabrics 

where you never know what you will find and lo and behold I found these three 

Red Letter Day prints by Lizzy House.

So of course some of each one came home with me!

I have been at IKEA a LOT lately.  

It is about 2 blocks from my house!  

I saw the cutest rug there.  

I wish I had a bigger sewing room to put it in but I thought it would be great 

in someone's sewing room!

IKEA also had this great canvas of a woman doing the breast stroke, 

which was my DD2's stroke of choice when she swam competitively.   

I am still considering going back for it.

Now this is not a purchase but a "find" if you will from my dad's house.

 Can't wait to try it out and see if it really works.  

No time at the moment though.

Last but certainly NOT least, my old Little Kiddles.  

I had despaired of ever finding these.  

I LOVED these little dolls as a kid.  

LOVED THEM!!!  

I found my Klub house and all of the dolls.

In fact I loved them so much I wanted my mom to change my name to Lola.  

There was a kiddle named Lola Little and she was my absolute favorite Kiddle.  

She was a sailor with long blonde hair, just like me!

I was not happy to see, when I pulled her out of the melee that part of her face had turned green!!!  Now she looks like Zombie Kiddle!!

  LOL  As far as I could tell all of the rest of the Kiddles were in great shape. 

 *sigh*  

Isn't it funny that this house full of Kiddles could make me so happy?
