More on the Weekend

It was a wonderful weekend. I hope you all had a fantastic holiday (if you are in the US). Mine was full of friends and family and lots of great food too. Before the weekend though I had something to share but just didn't have the time to get to it. Do you remember that my friend PTM did some stitching for Anne Sutton at Bunny Hill Designs. In fact the embroidery on the front of one of her patterns is by PTM, it even says so on the pattern!! Isn't that exciting?

(Photo from Bunny Hill's website)
So Anne sent a beautiful stack of FQs to PTM and guess what? Because I introduced them she sent one along for me too!! It is Maison De Garance by the French General and here it is
From Anne
I was so surprised and excited that Anne was so thoughtful.

PTM brought her granddaughter over to see our newly hatched ducklings and she just loved them. She looked at me and asked me, "Is it a real duck?" LOL too cute!

I just love this second picture!
I managed to sneak away for a short time and finish another Tisket block too.
April's block
Please excuse the unpressed version!
My SIL and nephew came over for dinner last night and I managed to snap a couple of pics of my DH and his sis along with my DN and DD2.

I also began another embroidery but I'm not too certain about it. I will try to remember to snap a picture of it tonight, I'm not thrilled with the mouth but maybe you can tell me what you think. As part of the whole process pledge you will see it now and again once it is done. I am going to do several and put them into a baby quilt for a friend, so I need to know if it looks ok.

Try to stay cool it is supposed to "feel" like 100 degrees F here today. Thank goodness for A/C!!

June and August Tisket A Tasket

Now back to quilty business! I got the embroidery finished on 2 more of the Tisket blocks. I must say I am so happy with how they are turning out so far. So without further ado here is June's block
June
Isn't it so cute??

I also managed to finish the embroidery on the August blcok:
August
I really like the striped cup cake papers and I LOVE my lady bug!!

I have fused September and October but have to stitch around them and then do the embroidery. That always takes so much time to do it well! I have 2 more blocks to fuse then all 12 will be fused. Maybe tonight? We will see. I have to get to the gym after work and then dinner, laundry...well you get the idea. I will have to see how much light I have left after that. Hope you are having a good day too. XOXO

More Tisket Blocks

I went to quilting last night determined to get some of the embroidery finished on my Tisket blocks so I could share them today. I got 2 done in 3 hours! Wow I am SLOW at that, but none the less they are done. I won't put the buttons and bows on any of them until the whole quilt is done and quilted. Here is the first one I finished last night, I think it is March's block.
March
Then I did the May (I think it is May) block.
May
I only had the antennae on the butterfly to do on this one, haha. That stem stitch on the other one took me a long time! Not to mention all the lazy daisy and french knots. I am happy with how they turned out. I have 4 more to finish embroidering now and that will make 8 of the 12 blocks done! I hope to fuse the next 2 tonight. I was kind of surprised that it takes me so long to trace, cut, choose the fabrics, and fuse but it really takes me some time. Don't you just love the butterfly on this block?
I am interested on what you all think of these blocks too.

Thursday Stuff

I went with DD1 yesterday after work to a place called Sham Pooch to bathe out dog. They provide everything you need to do it but you do it yourself. We were both wet (since we forgot to put the vinyl aprons on first, DUH) when we were finished. They had this amazing high powered dryer thing that worked like the high powered dryer at the car wash. It just literally blew the water off her. Amazing! It was about half the cost of taking her in to have it done too. Clever people, great idea.
Shelby and Laxy
I thought you might like to see how my flowers have been opening up. They are truly beautiful now! Thanks, kids!
Lillies are blooming
I went to quilting last night and decided I wanted to do the embroidery on the first 2 Tisket A Tasket (TAT from now on) blocks. I think they came out quite well. I just need to do the embelishments which I will do after it is quilted. I now have Jan and Feb done. I have fused March and April and will work on those next.
January February

I have to make caramel brownies for one of my best friend's birthday for tomorrow so I will try to remember to take some photos of them. They are AMAZING!! Have a wonderful evening.

It's Been a Bunny Hill Week So Far

I have been busy working on my Rabbits Prefer Embroidery and have managed to finish another block. I think I may actually have more of them finished rather than unfinished. Slow and steady, right? right? Please tell me I'm right. I took the pic yesterday without pressing but you get the idea right?

Block 8 RPE

The next project (which I have absolutely NO business beginning something new) is A Tisket A Tasket. This was a free BOM by Anne Sutton of Bunny Hill. If you have been here before you know I have a real love of all things Bunny Hill. I loved the pattern but wanted to do it a little differently. I saw how Monica at the Happy Zombie did hers and I was HOOKED!! So Monica I am copying off of you. You all *NEED* to go and check out her blog. She has a new line of fabric coming out soon that will knock your sox off!! I am less of a yellow fan so am using a green polka dot for the background. Like her I am using Sweet by Moda for the blocks (I think she also used Swell, but I don't happen to have that one) Pretty sure I will live. So you see it will be my own too. I have the first 2 blocks fused now, so all I have to do is blanket stitch around them. Then the embroidery. I am so excited!! I am going to show these to you but remember they are just begun so...
Here is January
Tisket a Tasket Jan
And here is February
Tisket a Tasket Feb

I'll be interested in knowing what you think of these. I LOVE how they are turning out so far!

Now I need to make a label and sew it on the gigantic "S" quilt for DD2's college graduation on Sat.
