WIP Tops Finished While We Were In NC

I had time to work on some of my WIPs while we were waiting for Theo to arrive.
I had cut this out when I was in in Kansas at retreat in August.
It was quite complex but I LOVE it!!
I am Swedish so the Dala horse is a favorite of mine.

Just in case you were curious about my sewing space in the camper, this is it.
The cats take turns "helping"  me.
Some are more "helpful" than others, LOL

I bought this kit last August while at the MI retreat.
Fabric is Guess How Much I Love You.
I had no reason to make it but once again, the voice inside my head told me I needed to get it done.
Turns out, a friend of my daughter's is expecting.
That little voice is never wrong!!

I cut this out out before we left home as well.
I have a Disney OBSESSED friend that this will be going to.

I finished this top while we were in NC too.
It will be going to a relative once it is quilted and I get it back.

I'm not so big on making clothing but saw this pattern and could not resist.

I made this for my Thomas obsessed grandson.
We were taking him on a Thomas and Percy train excursion.
I thought this would be great for that.

It even has a hood!!!

I had done these bears as a pattern test for Meags and Me awhile ago.
I finally made them into a quilt top.

This was also a pattern called Field Mice by Meags and Me that I pattern tested.
The hand work is not completed in this photo.
I have since  finished the hand work and sent it off for quilting.

I have had this cut out for some time.
I finally finished the top
It is the pattern called Camommile
I used all low volume Halloween fabrics.
This one is for meeeeeeeee.
I put the AGF ghosts on hot pink for the back.

These are the tops I finished from the end of August until October.
Hope you enjoyed the show.

Sewing In The Camper

As promised I took some pictures of my sewing space today, or rather I had Chris take some pictures.

We took the kitchen table and put it in the living room.  I use that as a cutting table and a pressing station.  I brought my wool mat and teeny iron and it works great as both!  Then Chris set up my sewing table where the kitchen table used to be and that's where I put my machine.  I use a Gidget table.  It works really well with my Bernina 170, which I am traveling with right now.

Finn likes to jump from my sewing table to the sink island.

Cole just likes to lay next to my machine while I sew.

I have to keep moving these 2 knuckleheads to fight for my sewing space!

I got up to press something and when I cam back they were in my spot!
I either have to move them or quit for the time being.  I think this time I just stopped.

This is the way things ended up.  My pressing and cutting station under the supervision of Cole.

This was me sewing the last border for my Christmas Bear quilt top.
I finished the top today too.
It felt like a real retreat where I was racing to complete at least one thing for the week!

I thought that hanging it over the railing would make it easier to get a picture.

It is quite large for me to hold up on my own.

I am just not tall enough.

Fall Camping

We went off camping last week
(likely our last outing for the year).
I packed up the boys and Chris got the camper.
This is how Finny rode the entire way
( almost 3 hours).

While Cole just relaxed in the passenger seat on "his" pillow.
It is a half yard of fleece filled up with my teeny tiny scraps and
batting cut offs that I can't use for anything.

I thought you all might enjoy a few photos of our camper.

I stepped out one day and saw my Sparty mat covered with fall leaves.
Pretty photo!

In the previous photo you can see the pet tent set up sans the pets.
Here they are enjoying their tent while we enjoyed a campfire.

Chris seemed to like the great outdoors as much as the boys!

One afternoon we stopped at Tony's for Tacos.  SO GOOD

There is a fruit market close by that had amazing produce!
Cabbages and Cauliflowers bigger than my head!

The gourds and squash were all outside and looked so pretty.

No trip is complete without stopping at the Bittersweet Quilt Shop.

My haul.
I ended up back there two more times for a friend that wanted more of the star print on the bottom.

If you need some too,  here is the selvage information.  Bittersweet no longer has any though.

The boys enjoy hanging out on the couch watching the birds and the leaves fall.

We also stopped at Northwoods (because of course we did) and I met up with Big Foot.

Finny likes to lay on the bed and ask for pets every time you walk toward the bathroom!

Chris set up my sewing table.
I managed to get all the blocks sewn for 2 Double Slice quilts!

And Finn thought it was a fine place to hang out.

Cole just laid down next to me

Until it was dinner time and the I got the stare down.

I think this pretty much sums up our extended weekend.
It is going to be great when we can do this more often!

Is it retirement time yet?
10 more months!
(but who's counting?)
