I have been working on finishing my Dreamy Stars quilt top this past week. I used this vintage sheet for the cornerstones. I knew as soon as I saw it that those flowers would make amazing cornerstones.
Sweet right? So this past week, while waiting for the stuff I needed to work on the Spring Market quilt, I decided to put this top together. It still needs borders, which I am hoping to get to in the near future, but here is what it looks like so far. Excuse the lumpiness, the only LARGE space I had to put it on was my bed and it is on top of my down comforter! BTW, Hallie seems to like it!!
I bet you would like to see those corner stones up close huh? OK here you go. Who am I to deny you what you want!!
I think they fit in rather well with the Dream On fabric don't you?
Now if you want to make this same quilt, the pattern is at the Moda Bake Shop and if you want to make it in Dream On, my friend Cori at Crazy Quilt Girl Online Fabric Shop still has the Dream On charm packs. I made mine bigger than the one on the MBS so I used 6 packs. I believe the original recipe calls for 3 charm packs.
My friend Lynne over at Lily's Quilts is doing a regular spot on the first of every month where you show something you've been working on that month that's made you happy. There are prizes involved, people, PRIZES!!! Go now and sign up. Lynne is a sweetie. If you ever need to know how to do something ask her. She is a wealth of information!!! Oh, and if you do go there tell her Mama Spark sent you!
Justone more thing, as soon as I hit 400 followers I plan on doing a giveaway!! Like this quilt? Just keep that in mind !! ~XOP~

Love it... looks like it will be perfect to snuggle under! Great job!
Such a beautiful quilt! I have just hoarded quite a bit of Dream On...your quilt inspires me to use it soon!
Wow, those sheets go really well with Dream On. I made that pattern in Bliss but only used two charm packs. I wanted it to be a lap quilt that doesn't touch the floor. It was so easy to put together. I can't wait to see how you quilt yours, mine is still waiting!
VERY pretty quilt!

Love all that vintagy look that you have going on in this quilt. Love it. Not quite as modern looking as your norm.
Love that quilt! Why didn't I think of making stars from the background material and the background from the prints. Sheesh! I'm glad somebody did :-)
Hello! I am curious...maybe I have been spending too much time with my kitty. BUT---I am intrigued by your use of vintage sheets. When you use them, are they 100% cotton? It seems like all the older sheets I find at my thrift shops are part cotton part polyester of some type. Does it still play nice with the 100% cotton fabric? When you say vintage, how old would you guess the sheets are? The ones I am attracted to seem to be a 70's type print. Thanks! Deb
I saw some vinatge sheets at the goodwill a few weeks ago....I smiled and walked past because I don't need another project....but I sure like the flowers and your quilt really shows off the beauty of the old sheets. Who says old sheet is not good sheet anyway? .....snickering
