There are 70 blocks total and I sewed only 24 so I have a few more to do but I have decided I really like the pattern.
We were talking about our church group last night too and I think a few changes will be happening with the CL's. I think we will charge a fee to be a part of the group. I will ask that there be one donation quilt from each person per year. They will have to participate in at least 1 group project per year. Then we were talking about using up the stash at the church and I think I will issue a challenge to the CL's to use only the fabrics in the stash plus maybe one of their own choosing to make a quilt for donation. Have any of you done anything like this before? Did you stipulate a size? Did you allow the back to not be from those fabrics. I would like to hear what you might have done or if you think this would be a good idea for a group endeavor? I want to try something that will challenge them.

Hi There, I like the pattern it doesnt look as severe now, looks more welcoming. Glad you found the ruler I am always losing things. Isis the cat let me fuss her last night wow I was honoured.
I think charging a fee is fair it will help with alot of things, and also fair one gives a quilt a year depends how busy they are. Will keep you informed about my projects.

I don't see a problem with paying a fee to belong to the group--and having them be required to donate. It's what the group is for.
The pattern looks good made up in your retro fabrics.
I like this string quilt too. Cutting the blocks and reassembling them have made it interesting.
TUG is looking good...all the fabrics are playing nicely together.
Glad you found your ruler! I think that pattern looks like it would be fun. The fabrics look much brighter in the new picture. The photo of Hallie is so cute. Now where is Jack?
I am so confused! That quilt is not ugly. My grandmother says she wishes she had a picture of an ugly quilt she made years ago... she assures me it was much uglier than yours...lol
I have a charity group and we often do challenge fabric quilts with great success. you can set it up many ways- also we have a cut it up party sometimes too- trying to use up our stash of donated fabric-I try and have a few patterns on hand to go with the strips we cut-we have a lot of quilters that seem stumped by trying to think up what to do with strips and need something visual to latch on to.
